TG582n - Event log

Does anybody know if there is any way of being able to increase the size of the event log on the Technicolor TG582n?
I was hoping it was going to be able to store events for a number of days, but it only appears to store events for a few hours.

Viewing the log via telnet may give a longer retention, the log can even survives a reboot.
Alternatively you could send the log to a syslog client running on your PC.

Another option: Install and run RouterStats to monitor the router - it includes an option to view the full telnet log.

Thanks for the replies so far.  I tried the telnet command and I was able to see further back.
I wouldn't know where to start with regards to the syslog suggestion.  Is this quite easy to set up?

Yes it is easy to set up, you just need to download and install a syslog client on a pc and send the following two telnet commands to the router:
syslog config activate=enabled
syslog ruleadd fac=all sev=debug dest=192.168.1.67
Change the IP address above to match that of the PC running the syslog.
You can fine tune what is sent to the syslog but that gets more complicated.

OK:
a) Install 3CSyslog
b) Run 3CSyslog
It's that simple. 
Provided the previously mentioned telnet commands have been issued to the router and a software firewall is not blocking access  between router and 3CSyslog the program will start recording the routers log.
Note: telnet command to stop the router sending the log:
syslog config activate=disabled

Where do you get that from? I can't find it on any source I'd trust.
The top hit from a Google search gives filecrop which I've never heard of. They list the source of the software as http://www.allrussian.info/index.php?page=Thread&postID=2166606 - I suggest you look at that to see if you'd trust it!
3Com was taken over by HP and a search on their site doesn't give any results.

I've looked in to doing this in the past and failed to find a free syslog windows package that looked easy to set up. If you can directly provide a link to software that is safe and easy to set up I for one would be grateful.

Does that need a saveall?

Yes if you need it to keep the setting after a reboot.

I'm a router novice and was hoping to see the browser accessed event log going back at least to the point the router was powered up, so I could build up a pattern of outages, just as it says in the user guide, but like you say it only goes back a few hours which is about as useful.as a hairnet in a rainstorm.
