TBB Pings Graphs - issues arising

Something odd going on:

There's nothing I'm doing that would explain the high latency around 5pm nor the high latency yesterday evening.
(4am to 9:30am is because the local electricty sub-station blew up!)

Re: TBB Pings Graphs - issues arising

It's the network problem we've had much of last week.  😕  Fixed again.

Re: TBB Pings Graphs - issues arising

We saw the increase and got Matt from Network Ops to take a look, should now be sorted (at least temporarily).

Re: TBB Pings Graphs - issues arising

Kelly / Chris,
For these graphs to have real benefit, do you not need to know which PN gateway a user is connected to at all times?  Or do you have other TBB graphs hidden away somewhere showing ping times into each gateway?  If yes, it would be good if we could see those too please.

Superusers are not staff, but they do have a direct line of communication into the business in order to raise issues, concerns and feedback from the community.

It's not really as simple as just looking at the gateway due to the config of the network, it can help give us a general idea though. We can already see which gateway you're connected to by looking in our RADIUS logs.

Can we hope for a more permanent fix soon? And not sure if you saw my edit to my post but can you explain what's happening? (just interested)

Re: TBB Pings Graphs - issues arising

I'll leave it to someone that understands the full nature of the issue to explain, but AFAIK we're closer to a fix.

Re: TBB Pings Graphs - issues arising

pcl-ag02 appears to be affected too, with greatly increased latency. Just recently gateway hopped onto ptw-ag03 and latency was back to normal levels.
That's RPM to you!!

Re: TBB Pings Graphs - issues arising

I'm on pcl-ag05 so it could be all of the PCL gateways?

Re: TBB Pings Graphs - issues arising

OK, for those experiencing the issues we're working with the vendors and gathering data on the problem at the moment (hence it not being temporarily fixed again tonight).
So if you're having the issue, log in to your router and disconnect/reconnect until usertools.plus.net/@gateway shows that you're not on a PCL gateway and you should be good.

Re: TBB Pings Graphs - issues arising

Something happened this morning. At 09:30:15 the PPP link went down although there was no loss of sync. I've also had a change in the latency as shown on the graph:
