Sync speed

Hi,
I have fibre with the ECI B-Focus modem. Could someone shed some light on how I seem to lose 1mbps if there is power loss etc? It has been running at 58mbps for at least two weeks with no issues. It disconnected yesterday and ran at 57. As a test I power cycled my equipment and it now appears to be 56.
Could this be a fault or would a profile reset return it to normal?
Thanks.

Re: Sync speed

Hi faite,
The DLM (Dynamic Line Management) registers each and every drop and it is starts to see drops it will automatically limit the speeds to try and help keep the line stable. Over time, if the line remains stable, the speeds will automatically increase and speed profiles will follow suit.
Arranging a reset on the DLM requires an engineers visit, it's not something that we'd do normally as the DLM will pick the speeds up on it's own accord.

Re: Sync speed

Oh I see.
So why would it automatically drop the speed after a single disconnect? Is it that aggressive?

Re: Sync speed

Yes it can be a little aggressive, especially on FTTC.
Generally a fluctuation of 1Mb isn't often missed too much due to the high speeds that you get but it will, with a continuous connection will improve.
