Sync speed difference between router and Plusnet website

Hi
My router reports a speed of 5504 kbps - but https://portal.plus.net/my.html?action=data_transfer_speed is saying 7.15 Mb.
No problem really just wondered why this is.

Re: Sync speed difference between router and Plusnet website

Your router may have done a recent resync to the lower speed and the Plusnet system has not caught up yet.
It may be useful to check your profile here http://speedtester.bt.com/

Re: Sync speed difference between router and Plusnet website

Hi ajsvoice,
It's because with your line only being activated yesterday we set the IP profile on our system to the maximum until it's changed by the DLM. This is normal practice. Your Profile is 4000 on BT at the moment so ours will reflect that soon. It could be possible to get that a little higher, but I'm not sure how you've got your kit set up. If you are using extension sockets/cables, this can cause slower speeds.

Thanks no worries - it's a long line here so 4000/5000 is about normal. Guess the profile will rise if it stays stable for long enough.

Probably, your current 5504k will give you a profile of 4500 and if it goes over 5696K it'll go to 5000.
