Sync Speed

The estimated line speed on the plus site is 12mb.
My router sync speed to staying around 9000, although it has been as much as 9600 and low as 7000. Upstream is very good at 1000
does this sound reasonable, or should it be nearer to the estimate? The previous estimate of 6mb for upto 8mb was very accurate.
I have tried the master socket, with no noticable improvement.
Below is some further information.
Thanks in advance for your help.

Re: Sync Speed

Putting your attenuation in here http://www.kitz.co.uk/adsl/max_speed_calc.php tells me you are doing pretty well as that gives 8288kbps

Re: Sync Speed

probably pretty good for the attenuation, hence distance in copper to your exchange
have a look at samknows exchange search / checker
http://www.samknows.com/broadband/checker2.php?p=btadsl
or kitz's similar
http://www.kitz.co.uk/adsl/adslchecker.php

Re: Sync Speed

Looks like I will have to stick with it and see if things improve. The speed is better than the ADSL1 connection, so that's good. Just a little disappointed that the estimate is off by 25%. We all want more speed, even if we don't really need it.
