Switching off spam filter

I have decided to switch off my spam filter as I cannot be checking webmail every hour for legit mail in my spam inbox. Most of my mails from user1@mydomain.co.uk to user2@mydomain.co.uk on my PN hosted domain gets labelled as spam. I thought PN had sorted out the spam labelling between usernames.

Re: Switching off spam filter

I too have had to switch of spam checking.  I'm a Free-Online user.  Following recent changes, all the emails from people I know are being filtered out as spam, so I have to check the spam folder on a regualr basis.  This is of no benefit to me; I may as well have all the spam through to Outlook and check it myself there.
I know it is difficult.  He human eye can spot spam in an instant but to write a computer program to do it seems to be an impossible task.

Re: Switching off spam filter

Me too.  I switched PN's filter off as I couldn't rely on it. I get between 500 & 800 spam messages a day from 2 accounts.
I strongly recommend you use 'MailWasher Pro' by Firetrust.  Its learning algorithms are very good and it sorts my mail out on the server extremely quickly.  The paid for Pro version is much superior to the free version, as with most software.

Re: Switching off spam filter

This has been a steadily worsening problem for me also. To day it has reached the ridiculous level, with 50% or more of the mail tagged as spam being in fact genuine. Having to check webmail every hour just to ensure that I receive all my mail is not acceptable. If there's no improvement soon, then I'll also be switching off the now obviously broken PN spam filtering and rely on my local spam filter.

Re: Switching off spam filter

Just like to add my name to the list of users unhappy with the amount of 'good' mail being tagged as spam. It seems to have got a lot worst in the last couple of weeks.
I now get more good mail tagged as spam than spam getting into my inbox.

Re: Switching off spam filter

As Liam has mentioned, we have a priority problem open on DSpam filtering. This will affect all Free Online customers as they are all on the Postini anti-spam platform.
There's also the potential for the training to have been skewed for none Postini trialists.
You can find out if you're on Postini by running a DIG on your domain name here.
Fill out the form as follows replacing username.plus.com with the bit after the '@' sign in your email address -

After clicking 'Perform Query' you'll see something like the following if you're on the Postini platform -

Re: Switching off spam filter

I turned off spam protection at 'Manage My Mail' and now LOADS MORE spam is coming through marked as [SPAM].
How many will there be tomorrow?
I normally get 300 a day and I thought none was being stopped.
So it seems the spam filter is doing something. (which is a question I asked weeks ago).

I've just been back and switched it on again.
I had about 600 spams this morning, half of which were marked as [SPAM].
I haven't had a chance to scrutinise them yet to see if they're genuine or not.
