Swapping my old Thomson router

Im looking to change my old thomson 585 router with an Asus RT N66U due to poor wifi range in my house. Can i just plug in and go or will i need to ring plusnet to get sorted?
Thanks

Re: Swapping my old Thomson router

You just need to set it up with the Plusnet settings
However - you have posted this in the ADSL Board but that router will only work on fibre as it doesn't include a modem
Since you refer to your old 585 I assume that you are on ADSL and hence you will need the DSL -N66U or DSL-N55U

Re: Swapping my old Thomson router

Hi cwestley
To confirm, you should be able to set up any ADSL router with your Plusnet connection.
Depending on the router, you may need to set this up manually, which would require your broadband username and password
If you need any help setting this up though, please don't hesitate to give us a call or resort to our support pages
