Superfast broadband is speeding your way
Lightning quick broadband is transforming internet use in the UK, with Coventry the latest to join York and Peterborough in an elite club of so-called ‘Gigabit Cities’.
At a speed of 1,000 megabits per second, internet connections will be available to businesses at speeds of ten to a hundred times faster than most users experience.
Next it will be homes to receive this service.
Ofcom – the regulator for TV, radio, phone and internet – is cutting the wholesale charges suppliers have to pay to Openreach, the infrastructure wing of communications giant BT, from the start of next month.
This could lead to further discounts, although suppliers are themselves pushing prices lower.

The article mentions Hyperoptic.
They only install fibre to the basement (FTTB) of high multiple occupancy dwellings - typically blocks of flats.
That is their business - servicing such buildings
They may use either cat 6 or on occasions another fibre length to install to the flat. I suppose it depends on the distance of the flat from the fibre central termination in the basement.
The price quoted of £22.50 is their price for a 20Mbps down and 1Mbps up service and NOT for any of their superfast services which are rather more expensive.
Though I expect the DM knew that they were being misleading when printing it.
