Sunday Speed Problems - ADSL-v-FFTC

Hi,
I always seem to have a slow down in speed on a Sunday.
I'm on ADSL.
I've run the BT wholesale speed test, which says:
Download speedachieved during the test was - 0.2 Mbps
For your connection, the acceptable range of speeds is 2 Mbps-7.15 Mbps.
IP Profile for your line is - 5.7 Mbps
When I went through the the later tests (when you need to put in BTs DSL username in your router), it says:
Download speedachieved during the test was - 5.05 Mbps
For your connection, the acceptable range of speeds is 2 Mbps-7.15 Mbps.
IP Profile for your line is - 5.7 Mbps
And at the bottom, it says:
"Your service was found to be performing poorly.
Please raise a fault with your service provider, stating that the BT Performance Tester tool indicates poor service throughput performance after the third test."

I've been thinking of upgrading to PlusNet's FFTC service.
Will I see the same problems using FFTC, or will my problems be related to ADSL only?  Althought I've been with PlusNet for years, I don't want to stick with them if I've going to continue with a poor connection.
Thanks.

Hi amaye,
Are you aware of anything specific that happens in the area on a Sunday that might cause the low speeds?
What sort of time on a Sunday are we talking?

Thanks for the reply.
Noticed it on Sunday from late afternoon through into the evening.
Noticed it before several times.
I'm not sure what you mean about other things going on.

Is the issue still ongoing?
I was asking whether there were any works going on in the area, such as, Water/Electric or Gas works?

Re: Sunday Speed Problems - ADSL-v-FFTC

I just did a speed test now and got 4.47Mbps.
My perception is that it's a regular occurrence on Sunday's, but I can't say I've kept records.
My exchange is Sale (MRSAL).
I'm thinking of moving to FFTC, but I don't want to stick with PlusNet if this kind of service continues. I'm most likely to use iplayer or whatever on a weekend. It's unusable on Sundays.

Right, okay, thanks for the information.
It might be worth completing the Broadband Fault Checker at http://faults.plus.net so our Faults Team can investigate further.

Re: Sunday Speed Problems - ADSL-v-FFTC

You may see the same slow downs with FTTC on Sundays /Mondays  I know that i do, it's not REIN or crosstalk  that only happens  during those slow periods (usually plusnets peak time 7.30pm onwards) but some times on a Sunday throughput can drop off earlier on late afternoon , Which could suggest  that something is acting as a bottleneck for the  volume of traffic passing through it during those times , be it faulty kit on the network  or insufficient capacity somewhere ,
