Sudden speed throttling.

Early yesterday morning, I rang PN to report that my speed had actual fallen to less than half my BT profile limit.
I was told that the CSR could do nothing and that I must raise a ticket.
With a heavy heart, I did so - result = nothing
That was over 24 hours ago.
Ticket 29225726 raised 7:49am, Friday 31st July 2009
Frankly, I'm not optimistic of any reply before Monday - and I think that is likely to be the form reply about
changing filters etc.
2.4Mbps isn't very good on a 7Mbps sync is it?

Re: Sudden speed throttling.

At least when you go to a GP and they basically went to ignore you they give out placebo's on the basis that if you still got a problem three days later they will then do something. Plusnet just ignore you for 3 days.  Grin

Re: Sudden speed throttling.

What are your speeds like just now? Friday Night and Saturday Night, My Broadband Speed was reporting speeds in the region of 2-2.5Mb but is currently reporting 6.5Mb for my line...

Re: Sudden speed throttling.

The speed problem is still there.
In an act of desperation, I hard-rebooted my router.
This caused my noise margin to increase by 3dB (Thanks BT).
My sync speed fell by 700Kbps
But my 21CN speed has inexplicitly increased from 2.4Mbps to 5Mbps - which is about 1Mbps less than I got on MAX.
Since I'm only 2Km from the exchange I'm absolutely ecstatic [not] about my "up to 20Mbps service" Cry

The customer support time to first response is now 77 hours (and counting).

Then reboot / resync etc

Note that the 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th entries are identical.

Re: Sudden speed throttling.

Hiya,
I've had a word with the faults team and they've assured me this will be picked up this afternoon.
