My fibre connection has suddenly had a big increase in ping and a decrease in speed in the last few days. Previously I was getting a ping of 13. Now I have ping of 28 ! I game a lot and such a big jump in ping is far from ideal. I tried a restart of my modem and router to see if that helped but it didn't. No changes have been made here. Any thoughts as it's been low for the last two years!!

Hi Justin7,
I've just taken a look at your line and can see that Interleaving has been enabled, due to your line erroring, this could be caused by a number of different things. I've written a guide about how DLM works and why it might have applied Interleaving: http://community.plus.net/library/browsing/fttc-dlm-what-it-is-how-it-works/
A ping of 28ms isn't likely to cause you any problems as nice as it is to have a lower ping. If you're wanting to keep an eye on your connection, it might be worth getting a TBB Graph setup as per this thread: http://community.plus.net/forum/index.php/topic,106312.0.html
My advice would be, to give the lien time, the errors could be a temporary thing from an external point of view, such as roadworks, and your speeds and ping may drop again if DLM see's a good, stable and error free line.

Hi Chris
Thanks for the prompt reply. I am reassured by what you have said about it probably being a temporary issue. I will take a look at the guide you have put together and see how it goes.
