Streaming and data usage

I bought a samsung TV around the 10th Dec which is internet enabled and has an Iplayer streaming widget. I have watched Iplayer a few times (not for hours and hours) during normal viewing times i.e. peak time.
BBC iPlayer can be represented as P2P downloading. It can also appear as streaming of media. Streaming media such as BBC iPlayer can take up large amounts of usage.
Any idea how much usage, say, 1 hour of streamed IPlayer is approx. (non HD and HD). I suspect the TV streams in HD as a default because I have a good FTTP connection.
Why the post? I just checked my usage allowance and I am close to 65GB peak time and only 12Gb was due to downloading files. Fortunately my Peak time allowance is 80GB but I was thinking of signing up for streaming Love Film (£2.99/month :))but maybe not now.........  Shocked
I can see that these internet enabled TV's (and future "google boxes") will be a problem for people with capped usage allowances.

Re: Streaming and data usage

Hi f513toy,
There's some useful information posted here on a BBC forum about that.
