Strange Broadband Usage

Upon checking my broadband usage there is two items of usage that simply do not add up one being it's showing usage for broadband calls yet i don't use my connection to make calls i don't have skype or any other voip service and second one is usenet for which i do not know what this is yet for both its showing usage for it .

Hi there,
I'd not worry about usenet as the ammount is so minimal, we suspect this may be just background traffic on the ports that are utilised for that, another thing it could be is a banner-ad for usenet that might have popped up whilst you were browsing, those ads are hosted on the same servers as the usenet service which could account for that.
As for the VOIP traffic that category also includes other forms of online chat such as Xbox Live chat or Skype.
