Re: Still on Broadband Premier Option 1 - should I change?

I would call plusnet and tell them you don't want to wait that long. That's ridiculous

Yeah I'd give them a call - I've always been billed monthly since 2003 - three months is a long time to wait.

Re: Still on Broadband Premier Option 1 - should I change?

As it happened, Customer Support rang me this afternoon, about the cost of postage on the new router.  I asked about changing to monthly payment and they were happy to do it, but not until my next quarterly billing date - apparently I pay in advance.  So I'm stuck on my old package until the middle of June.

Re: Still on Broadband Premier Option 1 - should I change?

I had thought that the advance payment might have been regarded as putting my account in credit, and the first few monthly instalments at the new rate could have been adjusted down accordingly, but apparently not.

Actually if you pay in advance they should change the product immediately for you in my opinion

Hi there,
I'd be happy to change you over immediately if you want to do this, although this will probably result in a move of billing date (as the system will use your credit on the new price and move this accordingly).
Gimme a shout if you want it done. Smiley

Mand,
Excellent.  Yes please, do change my subscription straight away, if possible.  The change of payment date isn't a problem.  Thanks very much.

Re: Still on Broadband Premier Option 1 - should I change?

Hi Bert,
I've now moved you onto the Unlimited product.
I've also amended the contract length from 18 to 12 months.  Your next billing date is now June 13th.

Many thanks!  How splendid suddenly to have two people falling over themselves to help me.

Even though I requested the free wireless router, which I understand is on its way to me?  That's good of you.

At which date I'll presumably be in credit, having paid £21.52 per month for the period up to then.  Is that right?
Thanks again,
Bert

Er, I shouldn't have changed you to the 12 month contract in that case, but it's a bit late now.
Yep, as I understand it, that when the payment that you have already made will have then expired.

Re: Still on Broadband Premier Option 1 - should I change?

Jameseh, I've no objection to the eighteen month contract.
My point about the billing is that - as I understand it - I've paid in advance for my old package at £21.52 per month; call it £5 a week, more or less.  Since you've kindly changed me over to Unlimited from today, that means I've paid for seven weeks worth of Premier 1 (say £35) when what I'll be getting is seven weeks worth of Unlimited (say £19.25).  So on the 13th June there will be a surplus of around £15.75 in my account, which will cover that month's payment, and part of the month after that.   So on 13th June you'll take no new money from my credit card, and on 13th July you'll take slightly less than £11.99 - assuming that I've understood things correctly.
