Staff Help Please.

Hi im after a bit of help if possible.  Im in the RAF and currently down the Falkland Islands.  My wife has been complaining that our internet has become "Really Slow" and since she isnt the most technical of person, I cant get her to check the things I would like.  Would it be possible if someone could check what my current Speed is at, and also what my line is like?  Disconnections, SNR etc.  My router is plugged into my master socket already (Suspected Problems before I left the UK).  I would appreciate any help a member of staff can give.
Many Thanks

If you know your Plusnet credentials you can log on to your account from anywhere on the internet and see you current line speed. https://portal.plus.net/my.html?action=data_transfer_speed

I can see that the connection is really stable, it's been online for 13days up to now and is connected at a 2500kbps line profile which is close to your lines 1mb estimate.

I've run a line test and can't see any obvious issues so my advice would be to see what the results of a speed test at http://www.speedtester.bt.com are like, if the results from that show speeds well below what I've mentioned then raising a fault via here http://faults.plus.net is designed to be an intuitive and user friendly process.

Re: Staff Help Please.

Thanks for your help guys.  We used to sync at nearly 4.5kbps when we first started out with plusnet, however I am hopeful that the possible problem may have been identified.  The main cable passes through numerous trees and branches.  A relative finally got Openreach out to look at it and apparently the tree was growing through the insulator and damaging the inner core,  Apparently it was one of the worst conditioned cables the Openreach linesman has seen.  They are now going to replace this, so I will wait and see if this improves my connection.  If it does then I will change over to FTTC when I return back to the UK.  Many thanks for your help.
