Having been tinkering around with my Speedtouch 585 for a fair amount of time over the past few weeks, I ended up writing a few tools to allow me to admin the router from the Linux command-line. I thought I'd share them if anyone is interested. They use Bash and Python (either version 2 or 3 is fine).
Usual disclaimers apply - the work for me on my 585 version 7 with 8.2.6.5 firmware from Arch Linux x86_84. Your mileage may vary.
