Speeds?

I've been rather concerned about my speeds for quite some time, but only recently decided to look into it, I've done several speed tests using speedtest.net and have tried it with a few different fairly local servers, my DL speed is 7.59mbps whilst my Up speed caps out at around 0.37mbps, I get really slow Steam download speeds and was wondering if these speeds are consistent with what I should be getting on my Line?

Re: Speeds?

The upload needs to be uncapped - there is no charge for this

Re: Speeds?

Uncapping the upload won't benefit your Steam downloads though.
I'd be happy to take a look at your downstream speeds when I'm back in the office on Monday for you.

Re: Speeds?

Uncapping my upload would be handy but yes if you could check my downstream when you get a chance that'd be much appreciated, thanks Smiley

Re: Speeds?

If you post the information Jim has asked for we can tell you if the speeds your are seeing are appropriate for your line, if there are any obvious problems with the way the line is configured and possible ways the speed could be improved.

Re: Speeds?

Hi there,
I've just checked the account and the speed profile was mis-matched, that can in turn mean we're not managing the traffic on your connection correctly and could cause issues with specific types of traffic such as downloads.
I've corrected that so please let us know if there's still a problem.

Re: Speeds?

Will it be worth me restarting the router for any of these changes to take effect at all?

Re: Speeds?

It might be worth logging into your router and pressing the 'Disconnect' button and then reconnecting by pressing the 'Connect' button.

Re: Speeds?

Not sure quite what was done to my line, but I seem to be getting the worst connection I've had, constant Skype disconnects and my ping while playing Dota2 keeps rocketing and then getting disconnected.
