Speeds in Ashwell still slower than Base Camp Everest

It's been a long time since the article comparing Ashwell to Base Camp Everest, and after all the disruption we've had putting in new fibre over the last couple of years, we're finally able to pay the extra to get the service that other areas have been getting for years. However, all our friends that have made the move haven't noticed any difference.

Having just checked my own speed with broadbandspeedchecker I find my own broadband is now down to 0.15Mb/s and upload at 0.14Mb/s, and it's taken 30 minutes just to post this.

So is this just Plusnet slowing down our broadband to make us change to the more expensive fibre? Or is it just time to move away from plusnet? It would be a shame after more than 20 years with them.

Come on Plusnet, stop spending your money on your TV adverts, and start delivering the service we pay for

Re: Speeds in Ashwell still slower than Base Camp Everest

Hi @Stierage, I am sorry that you are having issues.

I have tested your line and this shows the line is currently in sync at 21.7mb and isn't highlighting anything that could be causing the issue you are seeing.

Was the speed test ran using a wired connection?

If so, can you have a run through the troubleshooting guides here and raise the fault here. If you let us know once done we can pick this up.

Re: Speeds in Ashwell still slower than Base Camp Everest

Thank you for your response. I followed all the troubleshooting guides. My router has always been connected to my master socket, but when I unscrewed the front plate and plugged into the test socket, my speed returned to normal.  I have since put the face pate back and plugged it in as it was, and the speed is still up, so not sure if that has reset something, but speeds are better now - between 9 and 18mb/s

Thank you
