Hi
I have been struggling with speed issues for a while now. Have moved router to main telephone socket but really made no difference. I reset router aprox. 2 weeks ago speeds seemed not good went away on holiday and come back to find upload speed shown in router at 160kbs. i have read many posts on here and have completed a speedtest result below.
Download speedachieved during the test was - 82 Kbps
For your connection, the acceptable range of speeds is 50-250 Kbps.
Additional Information:
Your DSL Connection Rate :1504 Kbps(DOWN-STREAM), 448 Kbps(UP-STREAM)
IP Profile for your line is - 135 Kbps
Can someone give me some idea of what i need to do to get a better connection.
Thanks.

You could try connecting directly into the test socket behind the faceplate of the master socket.
Whilst in there also check that only wires 2 & 5 are connected, the others are not required and can act as an aerial.
If there is an increase in sync rate it can indicate a problem with internal wiring.

Hi evanss,
I've just checked the line and your sync rate is really poor; just 192k. Can you plug into the test socket and give us a shout so I can do another test? No worries if it's after hours, I normally have a look later in the evening.

Hi Jojo
Did a test again tonight on speedtester with following.
Download speed achieved during the test was - 77 Kbps
For your connection, the acceptable range of speeds is 50-250 Kbps.
Additional Information:
Your DSL Connection Rate :192 Kbps(DOWN-STREAM), 320 Kbps(UP-STREAM)

Just put Filter direct into test socket, connected & rebooted router speed is now showing as:

Speeds have improved but still not great:
Connection Speed 1184 kbps 448 kbps
Line Attenuation 57 db 15.5 db
Noise Margin 15 db 20 db
They seem more stable today and not dropping down to the 135k anymore.
If there is anything else that can be done to improve my speed it would be apreciated.

Hi evanss,
Your profile is now 1000, so you should be seeing speeds near that. It seems to be the SNR that's keeping the sync rate down now. I'll have a word and see if one of the faults guys will have a look into it as you have a fault open.
