Speed issue

Hi, my download speed has dropped- using http://www.speedtest.net I get a download of 0.07 Mbps, upload 0.17 Mbps (Ping 60 ms). Repeat tests show: 0.14/ 0.14, 0.13/ 0.14, 0.14/ 0.13, 0.15/ 0.16.
I can't use http://www.mybroadbandspeed.co.uk/speedtest as it times out (tried over a couple of hours with no joy).
Using http://www.testinternetspeed.info/ shows 0.179 Mbps/ 0.070 Mbps just before the first test above.
Until a couple of days ago there was no issue. I hit my data cap about that time, which is fine, but should my browsing be effected? It hasn't been when I hit the cap before. Could the throttle have been incorrectly applied?
No noise on the phone line, filter connected to the one phone socket I have. Using a wired connection to the router. No other devices connected. Tried rebooting the router yesterday.

Re: Speed issue

while we are waiting for staff to comment what does the router show as the sync speed - this link works for a Plusnet supplied router http://192.168.1.254/cgi/b/dsl/dt/?ce=1&be=0&l0=1&l1=0

Re: Speed issue

Hi Kitch,
I'm afraid yes, your connection will be limited to 256kb/s until your usage resets on your next billing date (9th October I believe). I'd strongly recommend updating to our new Unlimited product via the Product Change link on our website, which should improve your connection no end and also save you some money as well.

Re: Speed issue

Hi both, thanks for the replies. I feared that was the case and looked at the alternative packages last night, I think this has given me the impetus to switch  Smiley
