Hi, the speed of my line is awful (compared to everyone else I know) but at times its mostly acceptable for browsing etc. but recently the speed is so bad I cant even watch Youtube on the lowest resolution without buffering. Heres my BT speed test, does this look right? I don't think its been this bad for ages, usually when I do a test I get much higher.
Download speedachieved during the test was - 433 Kbps
For your connection, the acceptable range of speeds is 50-500 Kbps.
Additional Information:
Your DSL Connection Rate :1408 Kbps(DOWN-STREAM), 448 Kbps(UP-STREAM)
IP Profile for your line is - 500 Kbps

The actual download speed is perfectly reasonable given your IP Profile. But your DSL connection rate suggests your IP Profile should be higher. The IP Profile reflects the past history of your line so it looks as if it was worse but is getting a bit better. Without your router stats. that's about all that can be said.

Hi guys thankyou for the reply. I know the below looks bad but its not uncommon for me to connect at 1.5mb and on occasions above, holding stable for weeks on end ( and flying). What Im experiencing atm is uncommon is really is reminding me of dial up speeds
heres the stats:
Line Mode G.DMT Line State Show Time
Latency Type Interleave Line Up Time 00:05:12:22
Line Coding Trellis On Line Up Count 1
Statistics Downstream Upstream
Line Rate 1408 Kbps 448 Kbps
Noise Margin 7.1 dB 10.0 dB
Line Attenuation 63.5 dB 31.5 dB
Output Power 16.3 dBm 12.4 dBm
and some line tests, hmm appears to be getting better no?

You have a lot of downstream attenuation but your signal to noise ratio is good. So it would seem you have a good (i.e. noise-free) line and generally get about the best download speeds of which it is capable. Some sort of a glitch caused your speed to drop but now things are recovering. You've also forgotten quite how slow dial-up speeds really were!

From the last test it would appear that the IP Profile reported by the BT speedtester and shown on the portal here have recovered.
After a low sync event it is normal for it to take around 3 days for those to recover.

Hi Evilgenius,
Are you using any extension sockets/cables. Can you pop it in the test socket and I can run a check for you.
