Re: Speed improvment?

@Rgmanby

Thanks for letting us know, it is appreciated. I see that the SNR has dropped to 3.1dB.

I suspect that overnight your hub firmware has updated to v10, which is currently being rolled out. That will have caused a reboot.

Re: Speed improvment?

Firmware version:

v0.08.00.08297-PN

is what it reports?

Re: Speed improvment?

@Rgmanby

Ah, so it’s not yet updated. V10  is being rolled out (there is no v9 release) over the coming weeks. The update concerns minor issues unrelated to speed or security.

Re: Speed improvment?

Hi again,

just checked the logs again and it has updated to V10 on Wednesday, my speeds have slowed again though, is this another settling out period? I'd have thought a firmware update wouldn't have affected line speed etc though?Huh

See newest attachment taken.

Thanks.

Edit : router seems to have reset again around 3am this morning, must have been automatic as I was snoring!

Re: Speed improvment?

@jab1 @Baldrick1

Just an update on this, no improvement on speed since fireware update?

Seems to have stayed the same since the last post, why does it reset the line at 3am every morning?Huh

See attached screen grab.

Thanks again.

Re: Speed improvment?

OK, to make it easier, just post the exported .csv file you can get from Technical Log>Event Log. Might give us a clue.

Re: Speed improvment?

It is what I was after, thanks. Your DSL connection is failing every morning, as you say, but those logs suggest it is happening around 0200, not 0300.

@MatthewWheeler  - can you by any chance grab the RADIUS log for this customer, please?

Re: Speed improvment?

Thanks for your input, I'm still struggling to grasp why the firmware update slowed my speed, just after I'd got my speed back to where it was, sods law!

Cheers.

Re: Speed improvment?

I don't think it was the f/w update that did that - there is obviously some instability on your connection which DLM is trying to compensate for by raising the SNR, but of more interest are the 'daily' DSL drops - which may (or may not) be related.

Re: Speed improvment?

@jab1

you can ignore the two around these times

14:36:54, 05 Jul. System restart, reason: GUIReboot

14:37:47, 05 Jul. Upgrade and system start from GUI

23:33:38, 01 Jul. System restart, reason: GUIReboot
