Speed dropped from 2.5 Mbps to 320 kbps

I noticed a drop in speed this morning from 2.5 mbps to 320 kbps!
All wiring is OK and am plugged straight in the faceplate BT socket - no previous problems with speed.
I noticed that the noise margin was 25db and connection speed 512kbps. I rebooted the router and got the following results:
Suspect that IP profile is stuck - can you fix this the BT speed test shows 320 kbps

Re: Speed dropped from 2.5 Mbps to 320 kbps

Hi scimitar,
I'll try an SNR reset on it and try to kick it into action.

Re: Speed dropped from 2.5 Mbps to 320 kbps

Dear JoJo
I hope this works however if the IP profile is stuck at 500kbps am I right in saying that it will take 72 hours for the IP proifle to go higher?

Re: Speed dropped from 2.5 Mbps to 320 kbps

Hi scimitar,
It can take 72 hours for the profile to lift. This can be shorter, depending on how big the increase is. The SNR reset should get it back up to speed though.

Re: Speed dropped from 2.5 Mbps to 320 kbps

Dear JoJo
All is back to normal now - speed 2.6mbps with SNR at 6.5. I do have a long line to the exchange in a rural area so I am happy with the connection.
Thank you for your speedy response in resolving this. The support given on this forum is excellent - well done.
