Speed and ping issues please advise:)

i was told i would receive equal or better service quality at plusnet than bt, yet i am on the pro package and my speeds/ping is the same or worse now,
my bt speeds
download 4.1mb
upload  0.375mb  
all the time basicaly
my plus net speeds at best
down load 3.o mb
upload 0.320mb
but drop to
download 2.1mb
upload 0.163mbs
ping test done same with the servers
with bt average 30ms
with plusnet at best 41ms drop to 60ms on the next test
they vary all the time
line tested to (A) standard.
no phone, using router supplyed with cables and filters supplyed, nothing else plugged into phone line.
so whats going plusnet why is my speed and ping worse now than when i was with bt ?
is plusnet limiting me as my line is capible of 4.1mb download and the same upload(i am know i am limited to 0.420mb max upload).
any help would be appreciated. regards mike

HI emzx23x,
your profile is currently 3000k so on a line with 56.5dB attenuation that would be about right and ties in with the calculator here As for the fluctuations, you are still in your 10 day training period so this may be a consequence of that.

Also I notice your interleaving is set to auto so I could turn that off, which should also help to keep your ping times low.

whats my routers setting address and how do i change that interleaving ps what is it

you cant change interleaving, its done at the exchange level.
address of your router could be one of many.. however one of these is the most likely (what router do you have?)
http://192.168.0.1
http://192.168.1.1
http://192.168.0.254
http://192.168.1.254
are probably the most common...

interleaving is adding a 'check' to your data, to ensure as much stability on the line as possible, however this leads to slightly increased pings (40-60ms is 'normal' on an interleaved line)

ticket has been sent thank you for your help evereyone hopfully sorts out the ping issue
my upload seem really low at only 150 to 177kbs is there a reason for slow upload ?
JO you mention i sync at 3000kbps download, and not line max, you also mentioned different values, dont understand what they mean but you said this was right would you mind explaining them please as i am bit of a tech noobie

Hi emzx23x,
If you click the link in my post you can enter the Attenuation figure (relating to the length of your line) and it will show you that the sync rate you are getting is about right.
As for the upload, are you seeing this with a wired or wireless connection?

ahh i c
, and wired on both xbox and pc, when i am online today espsiecially  on the xbox, ts unplayible so much lag cant connect to people or even the full dash board etc even the laptop wirless or wired  has thesame issues the is web is slow and  fails to connect to the certain sites no idea what going on ?,  any ideas
maybe its that traffic fault???

found my original thread still issues even worse than before downlaod and upload are really slow and i would like these issues resolved as i cant use this conection on live. and the web on the laptop is really slow eg plusnet main page takes take  over 1min to load
