Hello there. We've had good speeds (over 5Mbps) for most of a year now, and everything has been more stable again since additional cabling improved the electricity supply in this area. In fact I think we just had a record: 28 full days without losing our internet connection. Hurrah!
But a week ago we had a power cut, probably effecting hundreds of routers connected to our exchange, and we reconnected with a line speed of 288Kbps.
Since Tuesday (7th) the situation has been as these BT test "further diagnostics":
Download speed achieved during the test was - 1.2 Mbps
For your connection, the acceptable range of speeds is 0.6 Mbps-7.15 Mbps.
Additional Information:
Your DSL Connection Rate :6.66 Mbps(DOWN-STREAM), 0.45 Mbps(UP-STREAM)
IP Profile for your line is - 5.5 Mbps
Is there a reason why download speed is not anywhere near the IP profile? And how long might this situation last?
Fixed! Go to the fix.

Give me 5 minutes, then disconnect/reconnect your router once.

In fact, the profile is set right on our side. All you need to do is a disconnect/reconnect.

Despite a hiccup in the last minutes ...
Downloading now at 5.25Mbps. That should be fine. Thanks.
