forgot to say Brian, I checked open reach and standard is 24 Mbps and Superfast fibre 10-18 Mbps

The speeds are reported the wrong way round, but the upload data seems hight.

Yes, the speeds are reported 'back to front', and the upload is wrong for your attenuation, but the thing that makes me wonder if things are corrected is your downstream SNR figure of 3.2 -that is much too low for a line of your length - it should read 6.0 or slightly higher.

The speed test would confirm if what they claim to have done has had any effect.

Well, your download is much better, but I'm still suspicious of the SNR . Your upload speed is probably about right for your line though. - I forgot it can in theory reach 10Mb/s on FTTC.

John, he did say it might take a couple of days, and to get in touch again if it wasn`t right. I will let you know how it goes. It`s great to find people so keen on this stuff and helping others. Sorry I have been so thick 😉

forgot to say, the last bt that was out said to try `unplugging` the phone line from the back of the router? 

I haven`t tried that yet, what do you think?

OK. I'm away in Devon for 4 or 5 days from tomorrow, so probably won't be around until after the evening meal, but I'll keep my eyes peeled, The problem with such a low SNR is that if there are any errors, there is no 'wriggle-room' and you could see your speeds plummet again as the Dynamic Line Management (DLM) tries to correct for them.
