Re: Speed Dropped since 08/05

Thanks for the call Chris - sorry I wasn't able to take it! I'm not sure where's best to respond but hopefully you'll see this.
Before we arrange an engineer visit, two small points/queries...
- I don't have an obvious master/test socket so I've not been able to definitively test this but I have tried the router at all 3 points.
- The issue doesn't seem to be constant so I'm worried about the possibility of being charged for an engineer visit that shows "no problems" but is followed that evening during the "peak" hours with the low speeds... any thoughts?

Not to worry if you don't have a test socket. Is there any other programs running when you've performed the speed test?

Nope, I've made sure everything else is closed down but still getting the low speeds.

Re: Speed Dropped since 08/05

Either slot on Friday should be good, 1-6 preferable if that's possible.

Re: Speed Dropped since 08/05

Thanks.
So I can let the building caretakers know about the expected visit, can you confirm this is a BT Openreach engineer?

You can let them know yes and yes it is Openreach.

Re: Speed Dropped since 08/05

I've just updated the question with a brief note regarding access to the property - if you can get this passed along, that would be good. Thanks.

Re: Speed Dropped since 08/05

So, Openreach engineer visit seems to have produced little reward. One of my existing sockets replaced with a Openreach master socket with test socket inside. All sockets tested by engineer and showing no speed issues or other problems. Output from microfilter to router also confirmed as being up to standard.
He suggested trying an alterative router as a possible solution since we know everything up until it reaches the router is fine with his test equipment. I've tried this tonight after laying my hands on one from my family but this produced the same end results.
Where do we go next...?

Re: Speed Dropped since 08/05

Our fault team will investigate this further, is this happening on all of your devices?

Re: Speed Dropped since 08/05

Yep, PC connected via ethernet or wifi (measured using BT Wholesale Speedtest and Speedtest.net), Android phone and tablets (measured using Speedtest.net app) .
There are also obvious differences in performance when using video streaming apps on Xbox (for example Sky Go on Xbox on 'auto' setting doesn't reach the same picture quality as previously) and a Samsung Smart TV (where BBC iPlayer streaming is regularly buffering and channels delivered via Connect TV are stuttering).
