Re: SOMETHING DRASTICALLY WRONG HERE R/E SPEEDS

That's the correct format.
The BT speedtest is notorious for being a [censored] to run - it often takes a few attempts, and then you can wait several minutes waiting for it to do anything. What error did you get?

Re: SOMETHING DRASTICALLY WRONG HERE R/E SPEEDS

The login name entered on this tool doesnt match that discovered by querying the network for your domain name. Please check your telephone number (or user name) and try again. If problem persists please contact your CP.

keep getting that gtried loads of times now

Re: SOMETHING DRASTICALLY WRONG HERE R/E SPEEDS

To double check:
I think the telephone number needs to be entered without spaces (I always do it that way). The login name needs to be as shown on this page in the section  Always on broadband xDSL.

Re: Something drastically wrong here re:speeds

Hi Paul,
If you have a read of my dissertation on speed problems it talks about things that can cause these sort of issues.
Looking at BTs records, your modem or router connected at a slower speed on various occasions during late November, assigning you a profile of 750Kbps.  This was eventually restored to 3500Kbps on Sunday, following your router/modem attaining a higher connection speed.
From this end, everything is now looking fine.  Are you still seeing poor speeds following a reboot of your hardware?

Re: Something drastically wrong here re:speeds

Paul,
We don't currently have a 750Kbps profile, so it automatically gets set to 500Kbps rather than 750Kbps.
Glad to hear that it's all working fine now though!
