Slowest Broadband after Fault

Just raised this ticket number 47729578.
Quote
Futher to ticket 45601424, which was automatically closed.
As I write this message my sync speed is currently 864kb/s. The quality of my line has deteriorated since the fault was fixed by BT as described in ticket 45601424.
In ticket 45601424 the agents essentially said my line was behaving normally because the BT computers said so. This is unacceptable.
We do we want to start to resolve this problem?

I have been a PN customer for a long time, in fact PN have been my only ISP I have had. On the whole I am happy with the service.
One aspect concerns me, for the 2d time now PN are allowing BT to get away with providing me with reduced quality of service since a line fault.
My broadband started off at about 3Mb, after the first fault this reduce to about 2Mb, PN did nothing to get BT to do anything. Now a 2nd time, after a fault my service has dropped to below 1Mb, currently sitting at 864kb/s, surely this must prompt BT and PN into action to say this line has degraded to an extent something needs to be done.
Yours in anticipation.

Re: Slowest Broadband after Fault

I suspect the the exchange broadband equipment has reacted to the voice fault by increasing your default  SNR margin.
So despite the voice fault having being fixed the broadband will not return to its former rate.

Re: Slowest Broadband after Fault

Before the 1st fault years ago, my normal target SNR was 9db, and I use to get 2.5 to 3Mb. After the 1st fault, the target SNR went up to 12dB and has stayed there for years.
After the 2nd fault, the target SNR is now back to 12dB. However the line is now dropping out from time to time.
PN CSC has replied to my ticket with the usual canned response ... and now there is a fault with the fault checker!

Hi godsell4,
Sorry about that, the response is an automated one from the fault checker itself rather than a reply from the CSC. It will get updated and investigated soon I assure you.

Re: Slowest Broadband after Fault

Is ticket 47752503 stuck, it is not obvious if PN or I should be doing something ... we seem to be in limbo. Sad
