Slower speeds

Broadband speed checker tells me the speed for Plusnet in my area
sk22 3dh is 0.64 Mbps. My speed is 0.13 down and 0.36 up.
Is there any chance someone might look into this ?
I do not want to leave Plusnet as I have had good service in the past
but this is beyond a joke..

Did you ever bother to try the Test Socket, as recommended in the previous thread?

Yes  and tried a new router but still the same..Plusnet must be suffering a fault as it is by far the slowest on
our exchange..

No, it looks to be your phone line that is faulty.  It suffered a large number of disconnections in a short amount of time triggering an extreme response from the automated equipment in the telephone exchange in an attempt to stabilise the line to stop this happening.  This happened on Thursday 21st and the morning of Friday 22nd July (as illustrated in the previous thread).  The extreme response was successful in that your line has suffered far fewer disconnections lately but it has left you stuck with a very slow speed.  Adam from Plusnet was trying to do something about this late last Friday afternoon but I guess for some reason he has not yet succeeded.

Re: Slower speeds

Adam from Plusnet says your line is on a "chronic banded profile".  See the first post in this thread to explain what that means http://community.plus.net/forum/index.php/topic,77267.0.html/ .  I presume your line has been banded at 0.3 Mbps which means that you won't get a faster download speed than that (with Plusnet or any other ISP using BT equipment) until this banded profile is removed.  At that point it's worth trying the test socket and a different router, until them I cannot see that there is much point.
