Slower Broadband speed then usual... please help

Hi,
My broadband speed have been quite stabled on approx 1.6mb, however I did a speed today, and it showed my broadband speed as 1mb.
The reason why my broadband speed have lowered could be because everyday my broadband connection will disconnects quite a few times and that might have lowered the sync rate on my router. When I had 1.6mb, the sync rate was 2,800something however, maybe because of the disconnections, that might have lowered the sync rate which have gave me a slower speed.
Below is my router stats if you need it

DSL Connection
Link Information

Uptime: 0 days, 11:56:55
DSL Type: G.992.1 annex A
Bandwidth (Up/Down) [kbps/kbps]: 448 / 1,696                                          <-- <-- <--  The 1,696 part used to be approx. 2,800
Data Transferred (Sent/Received) [kB/kB]: 0.00 / 0.00
Output Power (Up/Down) [dBm]: 12.5 / 16.0
Line Attenuation (Up/Down) [dB]: 31.5 / 63.0
SN Margin (Up/Down) [dB]: 11.0 / 16.0
Vendor ID (Local/Remote): TMMB / IFTN
Loss of Framing (Local/Remote): 0 / 0
Loss of Signal (Local/Remote): 0 / 0
Loss of Power (Local/Remote): 0 / 0
Loss of Link (Remote): 0
Error Seconds (Local/Remote): 0 / 0
FEC Errors (Up/Down): 59 / 1,800
CRC Errors (Up/Down): 59 / 29
HEC Errors (Up/Down): 47 / 26
It will be great if Plusnet can help, either give me some information on stopping my line from disconnecting or give me an higher sync rate.
Thanks

Your default noise margin is now 15dB which is knocking your speed.
If you try the test socket do you still get the disconnections

Hi Oldjim,
Thanks for the reply, how long should I use my router in the test socket?

Hi there,
As Jim says, check if the disconnections stop when your router is plugged into the test socket - if so, there's a fault with your internal wiring or with something plugged into the line (possibly without a filter). If not you've proved a line fault and should raise it to us for investigation at http://faults.plus.net
