Slow speeds

I see other people are having slow speeds. I'm using a Linksys Wireless G-
ADSL home gateway router and only getting speeds of 15 to 80 kb/s.
My next door neighbour is using Sky Broadband and has speed in excess of 600.
Anyone got advice re increasing speed.
