Slow speeds fro 2 weeks

For 2 weeks now my broadband has slowed from its usual 1.8 Mb/s download to around 700 Kb/s. Upload speeds have also suffered.

Re: Slow speeds fro 2 weeks

You need to run the BT Speedtester Diagnostic test to see what it says for the IP Profile for your LIne. Post the full results from that Test and the modem/router ADSL stats taken just before or just after the test. It sounds like you've had a low sync event at some point. Are you on 20CN or 21CN?

HI esberger2012,
Can you tell me if you're using any extension cables/sockets? Do you have a test socket you can plug into?

Re: Slow speeds fro 2 weeks

I can't complete the bt diagostic test, it tells me there was an error.
The router is currently plugged into the test socket, no extensions being used. Speeds are still very slow and there is intermittent pauses where any downstream data seems to stop for a few seconds.

Re: Slow speeds fro 2 weeks

Hi esberger2012,
I've just checked you line and your sync rate is now 2144 since you reconnected. Once the line has been connected for up to 72 hours your IP profile will increase to 1750. At the moment your IP profile is 1250 on both BT and Plusnet's systems.
