Been having slowish download speeds for a few days - from about 27th Sept. I normally get around 5Mb during the day (after 9am-ish, first thing in the morning it is normally around 2Mb, not great but I can normally live with that). But lately I haven't even hit 3Mb at anytime that I've tested it. The below speedtest.net result was about 20 minutes ago when I noticed things getting very sluggish.
Although I don't have a need to use the forum a lot I notice that a lot of people seem to have raised 'speed issues' lately. Any problems going with on with speeds generally? My router is on 24x7, no changes to my system at all. Please note - not a 'techy' so any help would be appreciated please. Thanks.
Gary
P.s. BT speedtest just before the above test was:
Download Speed
0.9 Mbps
0 Mbps 7.15 Mbps
Max Achievable Speed
Download speed achieved during the test was - 0.9 Mbps
For your connection, the acceptable range of speeds is 2 Mbps-7.15 Mbps.
IP Profile for your line is - 5.87 Mbps
2. Upstream Test: -provides background information.
Upload Speed
0.9 Mbps
0 Mbps 0.83 Mbps
Max Achievable Speed
Upload speed achieved during the test was - 0.9Mbps
Additional Information:
Upstream Rate IP profile on your line is - 0.83 Mbps

What does https://portal.plus.net/my.html?action=stable_rate say for your current line speed?

Still not getting close to the usual 5+ Mb/s this morning. The second result shown below with a download of 2.72Mb/s is about the best it gets in the last week.
Anyone from PN please?

Hi gary396,
I have checked your line, everything appears to be running as it should, you should be seeing speeds around 5,8MB/s.
Are you connecting wired or wireless?

Hi Chris,
Running wireless but that's the norm - haven't changed a thing this end. Just checked and finally got over 5Mb/s download as below - first time I've got over 5 for more than a week. Perhaps monitor from my end and update this thread if it slows off again?

If it does go slow again you should run a wired test to check whether it is the wireless or the internet connection slowing down.
