As per title really.
I wanted to move my router upstairs so I could update my desktop, having had this problem before I disconnected via the routers control panel. Disappointed to find my sync speed had reset to 160kps. On my third day of slow internet now.
I was under the impression that the profile would only slow after a few disconnects in a short time?
Is this going to happen every time I reboot my router? How can I avoid this in future?

Can you post the full stats from the router when it is upstairs as it might be that the extension wiring has mucked it up

Hi turbostream,
In my experience 160k sync is a classic sign of internal wiring issues. Can you tell us what your sync rate is in the test socket?

Thanks Old Jim.
Router now back downstairs, back up to +3700kps!
Looks like the wiring to that socket is faulty.
Thanks joanne. An easy fix this time!
Now, off to find number of friend who is ex Bt engineer to sort me out.
Thanks again!
Adrian

Hi turbostream,
Glad that's fixed it, although I would still expect better from your line. I'd be interested to see what you get in the test socket

That would be nice - if he had one
If the friend can help I would suggest trying a separate NTE5 direct to the incoming socket with all other connections from the front plate

Update:
Have got the router plugged in to the "master" socket and it shows a upload speed of 3776 and download of 448kps. No real difference to the downstairs socket.
For the moment I will keep the router downstairs in the good socket, the "master" is above the front door with no power socket near by.
My wiring predated the modern DECT phones so may in time get it rewired properly, I can look in to the NTE5 then.
