Slow since I joined

I am disappointed,
my old isp when I done speed checks was always 6mb average, sometimes it would hit 8mbs, but I decided to come over to plusnet as they provide an excellent usage meter
On the first couple of days it was hitting 8,, now 1.5mb, which will be absolutely no use when the two older ones come home from uni, they are on VM and get 20mb all the time including TV

Hi Dave,
How are you connected to your telephone socket? Are you using an extension socket/cable at all? Would it be possible to plug into the test socket to see if we can get a better sync?

Go for it, plugged into test socket, with a new filter fitted got 1.7mb still too slow
Remember I have had 2 years with 6 - 8mbs

Hi Dave,
Your sync before you were in the test socket was 2016k. Your sync in the test socket is 8128k. This would indicate a problem with your internal wiring. Once the system sees your higher sync rate your profile will lift to 7150k.

Hi Dave,
Must be the faceplate then, which is also classed as internal. The test socket you're in now is what's known as the demarcation point which is where BT's responsibility ends and yours begins.

And filter, must try and get another one then, peak there now at 1829kbps

Todays speed check showed 6507kbps
Close to what it was
May (MAY,) have been a bad connection in the "Demarcation Point" as one of the wires broke when I unscrewed it to check for short
