Re: Slow internet

Can you gather the information asked for under speed issues at the top of this forum.

Re: Slow internet

This all looks very good given the length of your line.  If I can trust the router stats - attenuation of 69.5dB suggests you should get no ADSL whatsoever!!!  The line is circa 5km long from the exchange.
Your line is doing better than that predicted for a 66dB line (every 3dB is a halving of the signal).
The BT speed test reports 1.8M BITS per second.  Are you confusing bits and bytes per second, as the figure you reference would be about right for BYTES per second for this line's capability.

Re: Slow internet

~Good neews about the line being good for the length !
I dont know if i am confusing Bits and Bytes - i dont think i am -  but on Bittorrent i am able to get a max speed of around 150.0 kB/s . According the the graph I should be getting 1MB/s ,
youtube shows to be streaming at 177 kbps
its a sad situation

Re: Slow internet

I cant really fault what Townman said. Your connection is performing how it should be considering the length of the line.

You are confusing bits and bytes! b is bits and B is bytes
150.0 kB = 1200kb/s which is spot on right for your current line speed.
1MB/s = 8Mb/s! You are never ever in a million years get that on a line of your length using ADSL!

Re: Slow internet

Its still VERY slow , despite whats good for the length of the line . in 2014 no one should have internet this slow . its close to useless .

The internet light on my router wont stop flashing . so i still suspect something is wrong
