Slow for the last week

MY connection's been slow for over a week, I'm averaging 0.4Mbps download speeds with pings around 35ms. I raised a ticket last week, but the only response was that my connection has been stable for several days and they believe the issue is resolved. I updated the ticket 2 days ago to say it's still slow, but have had no response since.
The router stats look OK, so not sure where to look next.

What's your Current Line Speed?
You'll need to log-in to see it.

Re: Slow for the last week

I am in Oxford and my response speed in the evening is poor.
For example:
Sunday 7th December - 19.30 hours
From my browser:
Time to show Plusnet web page:  66 seconds.
Time to show community web page from Plusnet web page:  107 seconds
Time to show Forum web page from Community web page:  99 seconds
Time to show login page from Community web page:  24 seconds
Time to respond to login:  44 seconds then "Server timeout!"
Time to respond to login at the 2nd attempt:  14 seconds.
Time to select ADSL topic:  29 seconds then "Server timeout!"

Therefore, to simply get to the point where I could begin looking for relevant topics took SIX MINUTES.
It is like wading through treacle.  This happens regularly to me in the evenings, so why is that?
Other web sites are just as bad...

According to the Broadband checker I was getting Download at 6.4 Mbps, Upload at 0.37 Mbps and an average ping at 45 msecs.
Does anyone know?

That page is showing:
Estimated line speed:
There's no speed estimate currently held on your account.
Current line speed:
    0.5 Mb
My estimated line speed previously showed 7.5Mbps, but has now changed to what is shown above.

Re: Slow for the last week

So there is your problem - the PN profile has not updated to match the BT profile -might be stuck - you must have had some sort of catastrophic event in the recent past to cause such a huge drop in profile - your current stats for adsl max look really good, your attenuation suggests you live in the telephone exchange garden!! Re: Slow for the last week

I ended up ringing them and they confirmed that something had gone wrong and the profile had been set incorrectly, they reset it and told me I'd be back up to ~7Mbps within 30 minutes.
The line speed is now showing 7.1Mbps, but the speedtest is still reading around 0.4Mbps - do I need to reboot the router for the profile change to take effect?

Re: Slow for the last week

Rather than reboot the router, can you log in to it (using the details on the card that came with it) and press disconnect and then connect. This should give things a kick in the right direction.

I can't see anything immediately obvious, if you continue to have issues can you go through the steps at https://faults.plus.net to report this to our faults team.
