Re: Slow connection + Ping, but sync speed fine

@AndyH
Bala (next exchange along) wasn't upgraded to 21CN before it got FTTC, so I very much doubt we'll see it. Interesting to see that we're a child exchange for Dolgellau, as The ducting laid for fibre (50mm laid inside existing ducting) came from Bala rather than Dolgellau.
@Araf
Are you on a long line out of the village?

No I live in the village not too far from the exchange.
A lot of BT users were  complaining of slow speeds in the village pub last night  including the pub which went to fibre on Friday!

I thought they were changing over next friday? The wifi's certainly still on the old ADSL line (I've told them to let me know when fibre arrives to I can swap it over to the new line)

It's a bit of a mystery then as Bala is a child of Corwen.

I could be wrong of course, or it could be some kind of resilience link, but the lads with the conduit drum behind the van definitely started at bala and made their way towards us.

Re: Slow connection + Ping, but sync speed fine

I've been out doing odd jobs at 3 other places tonight, and all were suffering from slow speeds due to congestion.
Up to date example from me at 22:25 on 01/02/15
google.co.uk
    Packets: Sent = 20, Received = 20, Lost = 0 (0% loss),
Approximate round trip times in milli-seconds:
    Minimum = 1302ms, Maximum = 1804ms, Average = 1478ms
bbc.co.uk
    Packets: Sent = 20, Received = 20, Lost = 0 (0% loss),
Approximate round trip times in milli-seconds:
    Minimum = 1306ms, Maximum = 1735ms, Average = 1518ms
With these pings I might as well be on satellite broadband!

Re: Slow connection + Ping, but sync speed fine

Thanks for the update Matthew,
The problem is I'm moving to fibre on friday, is there any way of keeping the ticket open beyond then if there are still slow connections in the village? As previously mentioned my work has a Plusnet Business line on the same exchange that's similarly affected.

Re: Slow connection + Ping, but sync speed fine

Any more updates on this? I've heard nothing back on the fault ticket since being told on the fault ticket
"
The broadband fault has been closed by the supplier. Should problems re-occur, please restart the Broadband Fault Checker."
Does this mean I have to start from the beginning again?

Re: Slow connection + Ping, but sync speed fine

I have been told that the exchange looks close to capacity and
they are going to have a word with the suppliers!
