Slow broadband speeds

Hi

 

Have been  having problems with slow broadband speeds, unable to use internet and websites take a long time to load. Any idea what could be causing this?

Estimated line speed:
14Mb (This may vary between 12.5Mb and 16Mb) - Checked on 2016-01-23 11:58:35
Current line speed:
16.7 Mb

Mybroadbandspeed:(from http://www.mybroadbandspeed.co.uk/speedtester/)

5.67Mb

 

Would appreciate your help as it has been like this for 5 days now, it is unusable really. Thanks in advance.

Diagnostic tests that I've just performed are indicating a dropping connection fault.

 

Please report that with us over at http://faults.plus.net and we'll move things forward with that for you.

Hi Adam

I've tried to report the fault but the process requires me to have a second router which I do not have. It indicates I will be charged if my equipment is found to be the problem.

Do I go ahead with reporting the fault? Thanks.

I'd advise continuing to report the fault. If an engineer is needed we'll let you know before booking one so you can decide whether to go ahead at that point or not.

Ok, I've reported the fault now. It is still slow, hopefully something can be sorted soon. Thanks for your help with this matter.
