Slow Upload Speed??

We regularly from an extremely slow upload speed, (and below average download speed for the predicted range, but thats another matter) and I am unsure how to find out if the stated 1 MBPS is the maximum we can get, or if it has been capped. 

We're about 100m from our nearest exchange, if that's helpful.  TIA fro any suggestions

@AlejandroMaximu Welcome to the forums. If you are on ADSL, which I assume you are as you posted on this board, the maximum U/L speed is around 1Mb/s due to the technology employed, irrespective of your distance from the exchange/green box.

If you would like help with regard to your D/L speed, have a look at THIS topic and supply as much detail from it as possible. As a belt & braces action, also run a Quiet Line Test (dial 17070 from a preferably corded phone and select option 2) - there should be no noise on the line.

As you are so close to the exchange, do you know if you are on an 'exchange only' connection?
