Slow Speeds?

Noticed the last few days now my internet has been getting slower and slower
I know the area I'm in doesn't have a great exchange and during peak hours i won't get more then 3-4mb out of the line, but when i set up to do my downloads at night I usually can get the max for the line (700kb/s)
But since about last Wed/Thurs is just become really bad and speed tested to find I can barely get over 200kb/s even at really quiet off peak times. I've done that BT test and got the following
Download speed achieved during the test was - 1583 Kbps
For your connection, the acceptable range of speeds is 600-7150 Kbps.
Additional Information:
Your DSL Connection Rate :8128 Kbps(DOWN-STREAM), 448 Kbps(UP-STREAM)
IP Profile for your line is - 7000 Kbps
I've checked my local exchange "Albrighton" and its not reporting any problems...
Anyone got any ideas?

I don't know, but you're not alone.
i also have a long route to my exchange and in the last few days my speed has halved from 2.2mbps to 1.1mbps - consistently.
I'm STILL on hold to broadband support at Plusnet, so no reason yet.  But two things spring to mind in my case - work at the exchange or usage throttling (the latter is considered most likely)
