Skype issues - slow upload the cause?

I've been using skype daily for the last two years without issue but in the last few weeks seem to have increasing issues with my calls being broken up (mainly my voice at the other end) and dropped calls - is there anything I can check to see if there's an issue with my connection?

Re: Skype issues - slow upload the cause?

On the BTw speed test, can you please do the further diagnostics test.
The reported UL speed does not seem to reflect the US synch speed.  The additional test will indicate the US profile speed.

Re: Skype issues - slow upload the cause?

Was this over a wired or wireless connection?

Re: Skype issues - slow upload the cause?

Apologies - I may have done those tests over wifi as I'd been trying to determine the cause of the dropped/bad calls.
These are new tests with the wired connection - the issues have all been whilst connected via Ethernet cable:

Re: Skype issues - slow upload the cause?

When you have been having issues using Skype, is that over WiFi or wired?

It is clear that the wired connection is fully exploiting the available US profile, where as over WiFi it is not.  This rather points to a WiFi performance problem.
Is your router set to auto channel selection?  Selecting a manual channel might be beneficial, there is a useful WiFi optimisation guide in the Help and Support section of the user portal.  Also inSIDDer (V3) is a useful tool for examining the local WiFi stations and channel utilisation.

Re: Skype issues - slow upload the cause?

Again after a few days with skype behaving normally (no changes) by me I'm having skype call (not video, just voice) issues over my wired connection to my router, specifically I'm seeing send packet loss in skype with 0 relays and udp local:good.
Seems my upload speed is down on what I'm used to (usually hovers around the 1Mps mark, so great for skype calls):

Re: Skype issues - slow upload the cause?

@CRT,
That US speed test is way below the synch speed, as is the BT US profile.  Any ideas please?
