Sight Speed Issue FTTC

I had Fibre installed about 8-10 days ago, and for the firs 3/4 days I was easily getting a stable 65-68mb every time I did a speed test. However after those initial days my speed has dropped around 10-15mb to aroun 50mb.
Is their a reason for this, how can I go about getting those extra mb's again?

Re: Sight Speed Issue FTTC

As is explained with the documentation etc when you first get FTTC the speed will take up to two weeks to settle down to its proper level.
It always starts off high and, even though it might appear "stable" it could be pushing the line's capabilities to the limit (or beyond).
Over the first week or two the system will then "train", adjusting the speed to give you a reliable connection. In addition, as more and more people in an area sign up, the errors will increase and you may find your speed drops even further.
It's not at all unusual to see a 70Mbps connection drop by 10-20Mbps over the first couple of weeks for those 200-250m from the cabinet.
