Should I expect a higher BRAS with these figures?

Hi
My BRAS is 5.6 Mb - my connection data is

  • Maximum Bandwidth (Up/Down) [kbps/kbps]: 1,056 / 8,008

The IP profile should be 6420kbps as you are on 21CN
Try a router resynch then run the BT speedtest again
One point - Is that the IP Profile as reported by the BT speedtest or the Plusnet mirror
You could also request that the upload is uncapped which will give a useful increase in upload speed

Ta - no, that's the router stats - I've not paid much attention to them for a while, but I powered everything down the other day for major cable tidy up and when it restarted I ralised the sync was quite higher than the BRAS on my Plus Net page

The Plusnet number should be 6.4Mb but can take up to 24 hours to catch up and sometimes doesn't.
You will need to run the BT Speedtest http://217.35.209.142/ to check the actual IP profile

Hi Eserim,
I've just had a look and can see that your profile on BTs side has updated to 5600, though this was with a recorded sync rate of 6440 so I've set the profile on our side to 6400. Hope that improves things for you, please let us know.

Re: Should I expect a higher BRAS with these figures?

Grin I'm getting speed of over 6000 using the Plus Net test - and that is 17:30 on a week day, I'm guessing not exactly a quiet time.
Many thanks.
Jim mentioned asking that the  " upload is uncapped" is this possible?

Many thanks - router restarted and now - 6267 kbps/744 kbps (your speed test results, syncing higher of course)  that'll make a difference in getting all my photos backed up.
