Hi there,
In my router log i've found that there are several LCP down messages - i noticed it just now as my connection dropped.
Normally my connection is pretty rock solid, so i'm wondering is there a way in which i can find out if these line dropouts are caused by plusnet or an exchange problem before i start looking at a physical cable fault somewhere?
i've checked usertools and there are no outages for my exchange noted.
Any help much appreciated.
Mark

Nothing on this end that would be causing it AFAIK. I'd advise trying your modem/router in the master socket with a single filter fitted, remove all other telephony devices and see if the connection continues to drop. If it does, try swapping the filter. If that still doesn't work then go through the faults checker here. http://faults.plus.net

@bartstope and @Distance
What router are you using?
If it's a Netgear DG834v3 are you running the latest firmware?
This fixes a problem where the router would retrain the line after a minor change in SNR margin. See this page:
I have two of these routers which used to exhibit exactly the same problem as you describe. Both have now been up for in excess of 1000 hours with no drop outs!
If you've another make of router it may be a different issue of course, but if there's a firmware upgrade available for your particular router I'd give that a go and see how you fare.

Quote New DSL code from Infineon which addressees the LOM (Loss of Margin) drops whereby the modem re-syncs when the SNR margin fluctuates.

Hello,
@Paul03; I am running the Netgear DG834Gv3 but it is currently running the latest firmware; V4.01.37 AFAIK.
@Chris; We are not using any filters on the network, the Router is plugged into a pre-split socket fitted by BT, meaning splitters aren't used and the router can only be used by that one socket.
Thanks

Thanks for replies all. I have a NetGear DG834PN, but it's got the latest firmware.
i've got the router plugged directly into the master socket, i'll remove the phone and try another filter and see how it goes.
