Sending email errors

I have recently started getting errors when sending and replying to emails using OE6.
When I send the message I get the warning triangle after sending the message - but no error definition.
The email stays in the outbox and subsequent attempts fail to send.
I am told though that the mails are being sent and received at the other end.
Any thoughts what might be happening  - I'm not saying it's a PN issue, (or maybe it is)  but I wonder if anyone else has has similar probs?

Re: Sending email errors

Try closing OE and search Windows for any system files named outbox.dbx. If you find any delete them. Once you've done this reopen your client and try again.
Do you still have the same problem then?

Re: Sending email errors

I have done that.
The problem is still there but it doesn't seem to happen every time & I'm struggling to see what factors are making it happen

Re: Sending email errors

Very odd Huh
Next step might be to try temporarily disabling any firewall/email security software. Is it emails to particular destinations or emails of a particular type that this is happening to?
Edit: Just had another thought. Try deleting the SentItems.dbx file too. Before you do this you might want to move the messages that are in it to a different folder otherwise you'll lose them.

Re: Sending email errors

Currently I have one in my outbox which is between 2 PN addresses. (edit - actually one is a F9)
This sends (and I obviously receive it) but OE states there has been an error and it remains in the outbox - and goes around in circles!

Re: Sending email errors

Did you try the SentItems.dbx thing?

Re: Sending email errors

Initially that seems to have sorted it.
The sent items was bigger than 2Gb - that an issue do you think ?
I'll make a few more tests and keep you posted
