Questions and replies via My Questions are not transmitted securely. CSC confirms that this is the case and says that sensitive information should not be entered there. I find this surprising when something as harmless as View My Broadband Usage is transmitted securely. I think that many people would assume that questions asked via the Member Centre (and replies) would be transmitted securely.  [On occasions, since I have been asking about this, My Question data WAS being sent securely (according to Firefox) but now it's not. According to CSC it never was!]

Today I noticed that View Update from the Member Centre home page displays ticket details with an https: prefix.  Selecting Help & Support then My Questions displays the same details prefixed with http:.  Perhaps that was the reason for the confusion. However, I can see no justification for treating the information securely through one menu option and not another.

Re: Security Of The Member Centre

But if you select Help & Support from the Member Centre or many of the links on that page it redirects to http pages.  For Help & Support you now have unsecure access to your questions/answers as described elsewhere in this thread.
As I said before the whole portal needs reviewing to sort out these anomalies to ensure secure usage.  It would be unreasonable to expect every user to keep watching the urls to ensure they are https.
