Second day of Fibre and down to 5mb from 37mb

Hi all,
I'm being inpatient I know but a drop from 37mb to 5m in the first day is a bit annoying!
I'm guessing its because I moved my router earlier, there wasn't anything wrong with the connection - is there anything I can do?
Thanks, Max

Just rebooted everything and it seems to have fixed itself.
Apologies!

Re: Second day of Fibre and down to 5mb from 37mb

Hi,
If you were to come across this again, would you be able to run a few checks?

  • Firstly a speed test at http://speedtest.btwholesale.com and run further diagnostic after the test has completed

  • Check which gateway you're on at http://usertools.plus.net/@gateway/

  • Run a pingpath command, to run the pingpath command you'd need to open a command prompt and type the following, 'pathping ntp.plus.net -q 50'

If you could post the results that would be great.
Thanks,
Chris

Re: Second day of Fibre and down to 5mb from 37mb

Mine went from 65mb to 6mb the other night.
Logging into the router, clicking disconnect then reconnect 10 seconds later solved the issue for me.

Re: Second day of Fibre and down to 5mb from 37mb

When it happens, do what was suggested above before reconnecting to a different gateway (the disconnect/reconnect business).
That way Plusnet can spot any patterns with low speed gateways and hopefully fix the issue.

Well this is annoying, just disconnected everything (probably a bad idea anyway) but no better..

Well if its been like that for 7 weeks I think you have grounds to leave without penalty... I shall just continue all night now gateway hopping and forget anything else i have to do that needs speed, because PN Fibre is no good for that!!
