Second broadband

Hi I live in a shared house and we already have Plusnet but it's a basic version of it so the speed is not good for gaming or streaming 4k content. I'm just wondering if it's possible to get my own Plusnet broadband with higher speed package in my room? Would I need a line or some sort of connection? How would it work out? I'm worried that landlord might say no if it's going to be some drilling or wiring etc so looking for hassle free way. I'm guessing that won't be possible but just want to know thanks

Re: Second broadband

Fix

I am in rented property and had no issue having two lines installed with two NTE5C MK2. The second one pokes out more as the initial connection was receded into the wall.

The engineer simply took two of the extra cables in the first socket an ran them through a hole in said socket then placed the second NTE5C right next to the first. A very neat job.

I was also in another rented property that already had a line but a simple request to the landlord and the OK was given. Again, it was a very neat job.

You have nothing to lose by asking the landlord and they invariably agree to these kind of things.

Thank you. I'll ask the landlord.

Re: Second broadband

@JustDew - Hi as said, it would be best to speak to the landlord first as the phoneline will need to go through the wall somewhere by drilling. The other issue will be that when we are placing orders to the property we would need your room/flat showing as a separate property in Royal Mail to prevent issues with Openreach cutting the current connection off.
